We are typically approved for HSA in Ontario, but it’s specific to your plan. Please contact your plan provider to confirm coverage.

We recommend getting the scan annually, or every 9-12 months. This will allow you to track changes over time, and create accountability to reassess these metrics, while allowing enough time to see meaningful changes.

The scan involves very little radiation, approximately 0.02 millisieverts (mSV) per scan, less than that of a typical flight across the US (which averages 0.02 - 0.05 mSV).

Wear a single layer of comfortable clothing. DO NOT wear metal -- no zippers, no underwire bra. You'll remove any jewelry (including all piercings) and metal accessories before the scan. You'll also remove shoes and outerwear.
Avoid an intense workout, excessive sweating, or consuming a large meal or a lot of liquid prior to your scan.

No, this is non-diagnostic. It provides an indication of overall bone density, but is not able to determine a diagnosis of osteoporosis or osteopenia, which requires a different type of assessment.
