Assessment Session

Come ready to better understand your health, challenge yourself, and have fun! This session is all about learning and working toward personal improvement. Below is info. on what to expect!

Agenda:

  • Intake (~20 min.): Discuss your health, lifestyle, and family health history with Dr. Kaitlin Link; please come prepared to discuss current & past conditions, medications, surgeries, and treatments.

  • Assessments (scroll down for videos):

    • DEXA Body Composition Scan (~10 min.)

    • Grip Strength, Balance, Vertical Jump Tests (~20 min. total)

    • VO2 Max (~40 min total, including setup, warmup & cool-down)

  • Orientation (~20 min.): We'll help set you up with your mobile apps & equipment for at-home monitoring

We are located within Velocity Sports Medicine; ample parking available.

How to Prepare

  • Avoid strenuous exercise 24-48 hours prior to your Assessment Session

  • Eat as you normally would before a strenuous workout; avoid a heavy meal or excessive fluid intake 

What to Wear

  • Wear workout clothes & running shoes

  • NO metal (no underwire bra or zippers); you'll remove any jewelry for the DEXA Scan

What to Bring

  • A water bottle

  • Optional: If you'd like to clip into the pedals for the VO2 Max test, please let us know to ensure cleat compatibility

  • Optional: A towel, toiletries, and change of clothes if you'd like to shower afterwards

  • Most importantly, bring your POSITIVE ENERGY!!! πŸ™Œ
